My name is Martina, I’m 29, and I was diagnosed with autism four years ago.
In a society that rewards blending in with inclusion, rights and representation, autistic people’s needs are often overlooked, making us feel invisible. But we are not invisible – we simply experience the world in our own unique ways.
Our way of seeing the world isn’t less – it’s just different. And difference is what drives innovation, empathy and progress. Imagine what society could achieve if it truly embraced neurodiversity, recognising our strengths, addressing our needs and valuing our views.
We are not invisible. We see the world through our own lenses, and our perspectives have value. By making space for all ways of thinking, we create a richer, more inclusive world – one where everyone belongs.
My tattoo is a reminder that my perspective is mine alone, and while others may not always see or understand it, it is valid, real and relevant.
