Ann is a music therapist from Australia, who received a diagnosis for ADHD and autism as an adult. She has been working predominantly with autistic participants, even before she got the diagnosis, because she felt more integrity from these participants and felt it was easier for her to unmask when interacting with them. She also says that many autistic people have better pitch and melody perception than non-autistic people do.
Ann is happy to see that there are more and more health care professionals who are open about being autistic, as this makes it easier for autistic people to find a provider to whom they don’t need to explain their condition.
